I fill in the empty space between firewalls with lightning. I may bump up to Lv 5 if I have the funds. Then I make another layer of Firewalls but at Lv 3 mainly. That is followed up by two ice on each side. What I do is make a big Fuck-You-Firewall in the middle made up of a core of Lv 5 flanked by Lv 4. For lightning, you really only need the Lv 1 and 5. If you are using the higher level ice, I suggest stop doing that.
